Michigan Sports Academy - Livingston announces that Karl Kling, current head coach for the new Cleary University baseball program and former pitching coach for Saginaw Valley State University, will once again be offering a Collegiate Pitching program. New this year will be the addition of Chris Down, who will oversee all the physical training aspects of the program.
The program will focus on mechanics, core strengthening, shoulder and arm care, pitching strategy, and velocity training.
The program has 90-minute sessions which meet twice a week for a total of 10 sessions and 15 hours.
The sessions are Tuesday and Friday evenings with two different classes being held. Class 1 will be from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., while Class 2 will be from 8:15 to 9:45 p.m.
The program will begin on Friday, November 15 and will continue for 10 sessions through December 20.
Each Class is limited to the first four registrants. The cost of the program is $300 per participant. To register, visit the MSA Web Store page.
The 2013-14 Michigan Sports Academy - Livingston Winter Hitting League will begin in November.
MSA - Livingston offers a Saturday morning Hitting League for baseball and softball players. You can sign-up as an individual and be placed on a team or an entire team of five players can sign-up together at a discounted rate.
Age groups are subject to change based on registration numbers for each level.
November Session Dates: 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd
December Session Dates: 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th
January Session Dates: 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th
February Session Dates: 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd
Individual: $60 each month

Karl Kling, MSA owner and head instructor, has been hired by Cleary University in Howell to begin a collegiate baseball team that will begin play in 2015.
Cleary University, an institution that focuses primarily on business majors, will be an NAIA program and will eventually compete in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, a conference Coach Kling knows well having spent nine years as a coach at Concordia University, the last seven as the Cardinals head coach.
"I am honored and excited about building a new program here in Livingston County," Kling said. "I know the conference well and I am fully confident we can build a very competitive team in a short while."
Kling left Concordia as the all-time winningest coach in school history amassing 152 wins in seven seasons. Although one of the smaller schools in the state, while at Concordia Kling's squads played every Division 1 team in the state of Michigan.
In addition to his nine years at Concordia, Kling spent the 2013 season as the pitching coach at Saginaw Valley State University, an NCAA Division II school.
