Michigan Sports Academy - Livingston announces a clinic designed specifically for the youngsters in kindergarten, first grade or second grade.
The two-hour camp will be held on Saturday, March 7 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The first hour will be focused on defensive skills while the second hour of the camp will be emphasizing hitting skills.
The camp will be held at Michigan Sports Academy - Livingston. Cost is only $35 per camper.
Many kids will be starting their baseball or softball careers this season. And most, if not all, will bevery nervous about donning their cap and heading out to the diamond. MSA-Livingston hopes to erase some of those fears with their First-Year Player Clinic.
The clinic is only open to kids who have never played organized baseball or softball and its open to players of all ages. The clinic will cover defensive work for the first hour and offensive drills in the second hour.
WHEN: Saturday, March 7 beginning at 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
COST: $25 per player

Fine tune your skills in many facets of the game of baseball: hitting, fielding and throwing basics, bunting, base running and pitching.
Monday, April 6 through Thursday, April 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. each day.
Breakdown of Daily Sessions:
Monday: Hitting - hitters will learn and practice drills that develop good swings and are commonly used at all levels
Tuesday: Fielding and Throwing Basics - Ages 10 & under will build good habits before hard-to-break habits are developed while the 11-14 age group will work on the fundamentals used in backhands, slow rollers, drop steps, trap hops, and much more
Wednesday: Basic Bunting/Baserunning/Review of Hitting - Ages 10 & under will learn how to bunt properly and safely and learn the basics of baserunning while also reviewing hitting skills, while the 11-14 age group will learn the techniques for drag, push and sacrifice bunting, leads and base stealing, and reviewing hitting mechanics
Thursday: Pitching - The youngsters will learn basic motion movement drills that can be practiced at home while the older kids will work on mechanics from the windup and stretch and begin fastball movement and more advanced skills

In their very first tournament in their very first season, the Michigan Sports Academy - Livingston 12u softball team won the Flint Kearsley Tournament the weekend of June 7-8. We're very proud of the young ladies for their accomplishment!
