MSA-Livingston 18u Summer Baseball

Coach: James Edwards. Coach Edwards will be in his second season as coach of the MSA 18u team. After a stellar career at Howell High School, Coach Edwards signed to play for Coach Karl Kling at Cleary University. A starter at both catcher and closer as a true freshman, Edwards made his mark in college immediately. An injury lead to a red-shirt his sophomore season, but Edwards will be looked upon to return to his dominant form as both the team's closer and a catcher for the Cougars.

Assistant: Alex Duffy. A teammate of Edwards at Howell High School, Duffy played for three seasons for Karl Kling in the MSA program, finishing as the wins leader all-time for MSA on a team that won the KVBSA all three years from 16u to 18u, and numerous tournament titles. In addition to being the top pitcher, Duffy was a strong outfielder and potent hitter. Duffy is currently attending Western Michigan University.

This team will be tournament only, playing six tournaments throughout the state including several USSSA tournaments and the CABA State Tournament.

We will start indoor practice in late December early January at MSA and continue to work out at MSA until the high school season begins in March. We will resume practices at the completion of the high school season just prior to the start of the tournament schedule.

Players will receive strength, speed and agility training with professional trainers at Phoenix Athletics, located inside MSA. MSA players can also use the batting cages as much as they want to as it is part of their membership.

Please show up 30 minutes early to warm up and fill out registration forms.
